Join the Esquire Theatre for a selection of films from The Popcorn List's "Fresh, Hot Summer" 2026 Pop Up Series. Selections from the list curated and hosted by Garin Pirina of Leontine Cinema presented during select Mondays in July.

The Popcorn List is an annual survey of acclaimed feature films recommended by film festival programmers across North America - that are not yet available in wide release.

Founded in 2024, The Popcorn List is a discovery and visibility initiative to amplify independent films that deserve to be seen more widely, highlight the discovery nature of film festivals and the craft of film curation, and respect audience’s desire for story-driven movies.

FUCKTOYS (2025): Fucktoys is a narrative comedy revolving around a cursed young woman setting out on a wild fundraising adventure through Trashtown, USA, after she’s told by multiple psychics than she can break the curse by paying them $1000. Directed by Annapurna Sriram

REMAINING NATIVE (2025): Remaining Native is a coming-of-age documentary told from the perspective of Kutoven (Ku) Stevens, a 17-year-old Native American runner, struggling to navigate his dream of becoming a collegiate athlete as the memory of his great-grandfather’s escape from an Indian boarding school begins to connect past, present, and future.
