and Composer Erik Santos.
Film Selection #1: "Tsumugu" Spinning the Thread of Life (2024)
About the Film: A Japanese manga artist/survivor of childhood trauma shares profound insights from her personal journey, revealing the importance of nourishing both body and spirit. She emphasizes the value of eating well and continuing to pursue your passions, even when facing hardships. These practices, she shows, are essential to sustaining life.

Film Selection #2: "Over The Sky" (2018)
About the Film: Documentary about the power of music as seen through a music teacher and her junior high school brass band who live around the coastal area in Fukushima affected by the 2011 disasters.
Directed by Toko Shiiki with assistance from Erik Santos.
Both films highlight themes of inspiration and the drive to continue striving toward long-term goals despite difficulties. This is the embodiment of the Japanese word nintairyoku 忍耐力 -- the ability to persevere without complaint.
