We continue with MYSTIC RIVER (2003).
This film will be introduced by and followed with a Q and A discussion with Professor Stan Corkin
Mystic River (2003) is one of Clint Eastwood’s best films. He adapts Dennis Lehane’s Boston-noir novel into a harrowing vision of working-class culture beset by the ghosts of the past—clergy sexual abuse and the persistence of a violent and insular culture in a South Boston-like sector of the city. Eastwood brings a spare and strategic eye to his material, capturing the ways in which those left behind by the post-industrial world get lost in a history they can neither effectively change or escape.
